The M.I Alli-Balogun Effect: PDP Aspirant Leads Fresh Wave of Defections to APC in Bariga

BARIGA, LAGOS — The growing political influence of Hon. M.I Alli-Balogun, the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer for the Lagos State House of Assembly, Somolu Constituency II, continues to resonate across Bariga as more political stakeholders and youths from opposition parties align with his movement ahead of the 2027 general election.

In a major boost to the APC’s grassroots mobilization efforts, Hon. Odusanya Moses Olabanji, a two time Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Councillorship aspirant for Ward B, Bariga, officially joined the APC on Friday, declaring his support for M.I Alli-Balogun and the party’s vision for the constituency and Lagos State.

The defection is being hailed by party supporters as another testament to the growing appeal of Alli-Balogun’s leadership, community engagement, and commitment to inclusive development. Political observers have described the development as part of a widening trend of support for the APC within Somolu Constituency II.

Speaking at the event, attendees expressed optimism that the influx of new supporters from different political backgrounds would further strengthen the party’s chances in the forthcoming elections.

Among notable personalities present were Hon. Folorunsho Abideen, Comr. Ajao Onaolapo, Mr. Adeyemi, and Taiwo and Kehinde Alli-Balogun, all of whom joined party faithful in welcoming Hon. Odusanya into the APC fold.

With growing endorsements and increasing grassroots support, the campaign of M.I Alli-Balogun continues to gather momentum, reinforcing what many supporters have come to describe as “The M.I Effect” across Bariga and Somolu Constituency II.

Hon. Odusanya Moses Olabanji will be presented to the party leadership with a large number of his supporters soon.
